Congratulations to CIS Sandbox tutor Jake O’Connell who received the James H. Adair Prize in Computer Information Systems at a private reception in Newton recently. The scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding student in Computer Information Systems who captures the spirit and values of Prof. James H. Adair, who taught at Bentley in the 1980’s. The prize was established by his wife Patty Adair and their family and friends.
Professor Dennis Anderson introduced Jake as this year’s recipient, citing his excellent scholastic record, and interests in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. CIS Prof. Emeritus Doug Robertson presented Jake with the award and a 16″ softball, a gift that recalls Jim Adair’s love of the game. Prof. Mark Frydenberg also shared remarks about Jake with his family, the Adair family, and guests.
