Let the Games Begin! – IT101 Games Finalists and Winners Announced

For a few weeks, students in IT101 have been working hard on creating video games in Construct 2. The games are in, and the top 6 finalists have been selected! At the Sandbox on December 2nd, people voted on their favorites and the winners were chosen!

Without further ado, here are the finalists for this year’s Games Competition!

1st Place! – Fruit Gobbler








Fruit Gobbler is a game by Andrew Paquette that features a character who needs to eat as much fruit as possible while avoiding deadly bombs. Choose characters of all different colors and see how much you can Gobble!

2nd Place -Invasion of the Humsadites:








This game is tower defence game with a twist. Created by Eric Kersten, players have to shoot down enemy spaceships, all while building their own map! As a player, you have the power to place walls and turrets to defend your portal and win!

Tied for 3rd Place – Help Chris Beat College








This game made by Jake O’Connell is one with multiple mini-games rolled into one! Play a jumper game, a starship defender and flappy bird, all in one experience!

Tied for 3rd Place – Defeat the Majori








Defeat the Majori is a top- down shooter game developed by Luis Guevara. Dodge attacks and shoot the Majori for survival and to avoid armageddon!

Honorable Mention: Tommy’s Fun Buns








A game by Nick Ettore, this game features the player as a donut who needs to survive an attack in space by cinnamon buns. Dodge and shoot the buns to survive and get a high score!

Honorable Mention: Flight of the Dragon








This game by Jack Tadeo is a game of skill and quick thinking, as you, the player, in charge of three dragons, must dodge out of the way of deadly fireballs. One wrong move is game over.
