The CIS Sandbox organized a Road-Trip to CenturyLink on March 27,2015, to learn how an industry-leading, state-of-the-art data center is managed. With the growing importance of Cloud Technologies, we wanted to give our students a glimpse of how these infrastructures look and function in real-time.
Thanks to Gary Sloper,CIS Alumnus who manages Eastern Region of United States for CenturyLink, the Bentley team of students and faculty members could tour the tier 3-level data center. CenturyLink gave a brief presentation of their company, followed by a guided tour with their experts to answer our inquisitive questions!
Experiencing the high security zones, huge networking circuits and the top-notch servers the students were overwhelmed when they left the tour!
