2018 Grace Hopper Convention

Are you interested in going to the
LARGEST CONFERENCE FOR WOMEN IN TECH IN THE WORLD?

The 2018 Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC) will take place September 26-28, 2018 in Houston, TX.

Why Grace Hopper: The Grace Hopper Convention is in its 24th year. The convention is the world’s largest technical conference for women in computing (in 2017 there were 18,000 attendees from 81 countries).  It is meant to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront and to build awareness about the importance of more women in technology.

What happens there: Technology exhibits, 200 sessions, 700 speakers, Keynote sessions, plenary sessions, EXPO (career fair ** this is a great place to job hunt **), professional development workshops, technology tracks, and poster sessions.

The CIS department invites you to apply to be funded* to go attend the event. CIS faculty will review all applications that are submitted and hold a brief meeting with the selected applicants on Feb 20th, 2018.
*Funding will include cost of travel, hotel and conference registration.

Student Eligibility
You must be a full-time female student enrolled in an accredited degree program at a college or university at the time of the celebration (September 2018). Those graduating prior to the celebration are not eligible unless accepted to another related degree program (such as a M.S. or Ph.D. program).
