Big data has been a big topic for companies. Many of top 500 fortune companies are using Tableau as their analytic tool for data analytic.  It connects with companies’ available data in order to create data visualization, and will aid users to solve complex analytical problems. It also provides mobile application support, for companies deploying mobile business intelligence to their end users.

Tableau integrates with the most popular big data platform Hadoop, and also it integrates with the most popular statistical programming language R, so analytical teams are able to wrangle data from database and doing statistical analysis through only one system Tableau.

The con sides of Tableau are, Tableau’s integration acquires companies to have low-level security on database administration, so the integration of Tableau may cause security problem since hackers are able to hack Tableau and get into companies’ database system.

Tableau does not offer scheduling and notification report, so that users have to use Tableau manually in order to generate periodic reports.

Tableau does not integrate with big data social media platform such like Twitters, Microsoft SharePoint, so marketing analytic can be challenging and time consuming by only using Tableau for business intelligence.

In Conclusion, Tableau is a new business intelligence tool, many companies use it as a critical business intelligence tool.
