This past weekend, Bentley University celebrated Parents and Family Weekend. On Saturday events were happening all over campus, including a speech from President Larson, Career Services and Academic Advising presentations, and of course the CIS Sandbox open house!
Parents, family, friends, and alumni all got to experience different aspects of the Sandbox. Families added their names and hometowns to our Live Map by scanning a QR code or using our touch screen television. By the end of the open house, there were 60 different location pins on our map from families all over the world that came to visit! If you would like to see all of the different pins, click on the link to our Parents and Family Weekend Live Map below.

Parents also learned about the different types of tutoring that occur in the Sandbox, including one-on-one peer tutoring, tutorial videos that are located on our website under the ‘Resources’ tab, and the big IT101 Crunch Sessions that occur right before the IT101 midterms and final.
But perhaps our visitors’ favorite experience at the CIS Sandbox on Saturday was getting to use the Oculus Rift! For those who don’t know, the Oculus Rift is a virtual reality system that completely immerses you into the virtual world. Almost all of our visitors gave the Oculus Rift a try, playing virtual reality games like Spiderman and Robo Recall. There was even an intense game of virtual reality Pictionary taking place! Check out our twitter @cisSandbox for videos and images of our visitors’ drawings.
We would like to say thank you to all of our visitors for coming to experience the CIS Sandbox this Saturday! We hope you enjoyed the rest of Parents and Family Weekend!
