Important Information about the IT 101 Final Exam
The Concepts part of the IT101 Final Exam consists of 40 questions taken from 13 different knowledge areas. These knowledge areas are: DC Chapter 01 (Digital Technology), DC Chapter 2 (Internet), DC Chapter 3 (Computers & Mobile Devices), DC Chapter 4 (Programs & Apps), DC Chapter 5 (Digital Safety & Security), DC Chapter 6 (Inside Computers & Mobile Devices), DC Chapter 7 (Input & Output), DC Chapter 8 (Digital Storage), DC Chapter 9 (Operating Systems), DC Chapter 10 (Communications & Networks), DC Chapter 11 (Information & Data Management), HTML, and Wireless Router Lab. The questions are very similar to those used for the DC Quizzes you have been taking all semester. Please also review the questions from the lab report for your wireless router lab.
For additional DC review questions, refer to the Study Guide section at the end of each chapter of Discovering Computers. It contains several questions (fill in the blank, multiple choice, short answer, matching) that will help you review the material.
The Excel part of the final exam will focus on topics from New Perspectives Tutorials 1 through 8. To help you study for the Excel part of the final exam, look at the Sample Data file. This file contains the first 30 rows of the actual data that you will see for the Excel part of the exam.
The exam will be timed; you may use any information you can access on your computer as reference, including your DC book and you may use your Excel book, but the more you look up, the less time you will have to complete the questions. You may not exchange online messages or other communications with anyone during the exam.
