It is presented with a humorous tone, but the events described definitely demonstrate the issues that can be caused by the painfully simple yet program-breaking bugs we coders at the Sandbox typically call “golden rules”. I doubt your CS 180 Java assignments will block out the entire Internet or shut down the entire Bentley server due to division by zero, but it is important to always be weary about the potential havoc golden rules can create once the stakes are higher in the workplace.
