Are you interested in going to the
\nLARGEST CONFERENCE FOR WOMEN IN TECH IN THE WORLD?<\/p>\n

The 2018 Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC) will take place September 26-28, 2018 in Houston, TX.<\/p>\n

Why Grace Hopper:\u00a0<\/strong>The Grace Hopper Convention is in its 24th year. The convention is the\u00a0world\u2019s largest technical conference for women in computing (in 2017 there were 18,000 attendees from 81 countries)<\/strong>.\u00a0 It is meant to\u00a0bring\u00a0the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront and to build awareness about the importance of more women in technology.<\/p>\n

What happens there:\u00a0<\/strong>Technology exhibits, 200 sessions, 700 speakers, Keynote sessions, plenary sessions, EXPO (career fair ** this is a great place to job hunt **), professional development workshops, technology tracks, and poster sessions.<\/p>\n

The CIS department invites you to apply to be funded* to go attend the event.\u00a0CIS faculty will review all applications that are submitted and hold a brief meeting with the selected applicants on Feb 20th<\/sup>, 2018.
\n*Funding will include cost of travel, hotel and conference registration.<\/p>\n

Student Eligibility
\n<\/strong>You must be a full-time female student enrolled in an accredited degree program at a college or university at the time of the celebration (September 2018). Those graduating prior to the celebration are not eligible<\/strong> unless accepted to another related degree program (such as a M.S. or Ph.D. program).<\/p>\n
