To Our ALANA Overnight Students – Welcome to the Sandbox!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our activity today is making websites. By end of the day, you’ll have an awesome website about you and your day at Bentley that you can show everyone!<\/p>\n

Instructions:<\/p>\n

  1. Open your browser to the Sandbox Website and scroll down to the \u201cFrom the Blog\u201d section. Click on the link for the ALANA Overnight Program.<\/li>\n
  2. On that page, click on the link to go to \u201cStarter Files!\u201d.<\/li>\n
  3. Now, right click on the Starter Files and click download.<\/li>\n
  4. Move the Starter Files folder to the Desktop.<\/li>\n
  5. Back on the Sandbox Website, click the link that says \u201cYour Pictures\u201d. Find your picture in this folder, right click it and hit \u201cdownload.\u201d<\/li>\n
  6. Move this picture into that same folder!<\/li>\n
  7. Inside the folder, find the \u201cwebpage\u201d file, right click and rename it to FirstName Last Initial dot html (ex. harryb.html) all lowercase.<\/li>\n
  8. Right click that file, and click on Open with Brackets. Now, let\u2019s start coding!<\/li>\n
  9. In the <title> tag, on line 9, type in Welcome to Bentley!<\/strong><\/li>\n
  10. In the <h2> tag on line 46, type in your name.<\/li>\n
  11. On line 50, you will insert an image, type in the name of your photo\u00a0Example: <img src=\u201d302493.jpg \u201c alt=\u201dHarry\u201d\/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. On line 62, replace the text HIGH SCHOOL HERE with the name of your high school.<\/li>\n
    2. On line 68, replace the text MAJOR HERE with your future major. If you would like to view the majors and minors offered, visit this link<\/a>. If you aren\u2019t sure what you might want to major in, write: \u201cI am interested in learning more about \u2026\u201d and select an area of study.<\/li>\n
    3. In the first list, titled Three Reasons I want to go to Bentley (line 74), list your three reasons. To do this, replace the text that says REASON ONE, TWO etc. with your reasons. The <li> tag creates a bulleted list.<\/li>\n
    4. In the second list, titled What I\u2019m excited to do at Bentley Today (line 82), change activity one, two etc. to a sentence about each of your three activities that you can\u2019t wait to do at Bentley.<\/li>\n
    5. Open the website folder and view the pictures titled, titled, admissions, studentcenter and library and choose your favorite.<\/li>\n
    6. On line 89, replace \u201cYOURBENTLEYPICTUREHERE.jpg\u201d and type in the name of your favorite picture for your website.<\/li>\n
    7. On lines 16, 22 and 27, choose a color for your text to be.<\/li>\n
    8. On line 33 type in a color for your background color.<\/li>\n
    9. Preview the file and make sure it looks good. To do this, go to File > Live Preview. Make any corrections if necessary.<\/li>\n
