Especially those commercials from the brands that you don\u2019t even remember when you gave out your email address. What\u2019s worse, those important emails were buried among your email ocean and didn\u2019t get your timely attention.<br \/>\nGmail offers a bunch of functions that you may not know about. Choose what you want and click \u201ccreate filter,\u201d your filter will be created successfully! <\/p>\n<p>2.\tTag management<br \/>\nYou might be familiar with \u201cstar\u201d tool, with which you can mark your important emails.<br \/>\nYou may not know that you can use TAG to manage ALL your emails. <\/p>\n<p>You can add multiple tags on certain kind of emails with different colors. So you can recognize different email categories easily, and you can view all emails with certain tag.<br \/>\nJust like this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cis.bentley.edu\/sandbox\/index.php\/2012\/04\/12\/how-to-use-gmail-wisely\/email-tag\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2023\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cis.bentley.edu\/sandbox\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/email-tag.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"email tag\" width=\"311\" height=\"133\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2023\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cissandbox.bentley.edu\/sandbox\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/email-tag.png 311w, https:\/\/cissandbox.bentley.edu\/sandbox\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/email-tag-300x128.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 311px) 100vw, 311px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is how to do it:<br \/>\n\u2022When viewing your Inbox, select the checkbox next to those messages, click the Labels   button, and click the label you want. (Or check the boxes next to several labels and click Apply.) <\/p>\n<p>Right on the left of the \u201cLabel\u201d button, there is the \u201cmove to\u201d button, which allows you to archive your emails into different folders. So you could click on certain tag on the left side to open certain category. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022When viewing a message, click the Labels button to add a label to the message. More amazingly, you can also click and drag a label from the left side and drop it on the message! <\/p>\n<p>\u2022Now, you can add different colors for different tags. Click the little arrow next to the tag on the left. So when your email comes, it will show like the picture above. <\/p>\n<p>3.Archive &#038; Spam report<br \/>\nGmail provides you a lot  free space to store anything you want. The emails in your spam box will be removed permanently after 30 days, while those emails you archived will be stored permanently. <\/p>\n<p>Click this \u201carchive\u201d button <a href=\"http:\/\/cis.bentley.edu\/sandbox\/index.php\/2012\/04\/12\/how-to-use-gmail-wisely\/archive-button\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2024\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cis.bentley.edu\/sandbox\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/archive-button.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"archive button\" width=\"71\" height=\"30\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2024\" \/><\/a>, and the email will be moved to \u201cAll Mail.\u201d Thus, you can leave those old emails there without sorting out them. Every time you need anything, just search inside \u201cAll Mail.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>After you report spam <a href=\"http:\/\/cis.bentley.edu\/sandbox\/index.php\/2012\/04\/12\/how-to-use-gmail-wisely\/report-spam\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2025\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cis.bentley.edu\/sandbox\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/report-spam.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"report spam\" width=\"67\" height=\"28\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2025\" \/><\/a>, Gmail will quickly start to block similar emails.  The more you report, the more efficient and accurate Gmail will become. So make a contribution and let more people avoid spam!<\/p>\n<p>4.General tips<\/p>\n<p>You can do almost anything you want with Gmail\u2019s settings. Keep this in mind:<br \/>\n\u2022They may break at any time.<br \/>\n\u2022Similarly, they may disappear temporarily or permanently.<br \/>\n\u2022They may work so well that they graduate and become regular features.<br \/>\nWhen you are having fun with those new functions, you also helped improving Gmail. <\/p>\n<p>Go and mess around with your Gmail today! <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello everyone, Have you ever felt tired about the tons of emails you receive every day?
